A report on a furry fun party -- by Bombay

Bella, Bella... of course I still have your numburr on my belly. Look!
Wasn't it a furry rockin' party?
For those of you going, "Eh? What party?"... Finnegan and Buddy threw a furry fun burrthday/Gotcha party. March 18 was the day Finny's Mommy adopted him.
And because it was also a St. Patrick's party, efurrybody had to come all dressed in green.
To get to their house, all I had to do was to close my eyes... say "Transport me to Finny and Buddy's party" 7 times furry quickly... and ta-dah! I was magically teleported to their lovely house all decked in green balloons and green shamrocks.

Arriving at Finny & Buddy's party in style
But I arrived at the party furry late because I forgot all about the time difference between Singapurr and the United States, which are furry furry far away from each other.

Music and niptinis are a lethal combination
When I got there, many kitties were already celebrating heavily. Victor & Bonnie, Beau, Scooby, Shaggy & Scout, Meezers, Mia and Bella, just to name a few, were all there.
I wished Finny a furry happy burrthday and gave him a present. Then Princess Mia brought me a green niptini. It was POWERFUL!

Seduced by the music
That night, I was a furry lucky kitty. I got to do the furry sexy catango with 3 amazing beauties -- Princess Mia, Bonnie and Bella! Rrrooaaawwrr!

I practised the catango a lot with my Foster Mommy
All three lovelies said that I was a furry good dancer. Well, I'm not surprised. After all, I did practise the catango a lot with my Foster Mommy when I was a mere kitten.
Soon it was time for Finny to open his prezzies. I gave Finny a collection of 3 of my furrvorite books. They are all about furry cute kitties just like us!

My burrthday prezzie to Finny
Over drinks, I found out that Princess Mia's bean grandparents are living in Singapurr. I promised her I would visit them for her.
Soon enough, I had waaay too many niptinis and meowgaritas and got myself quite drunk. I hiccupped so much that Beau wanted to cut off my drinks.

Regretting all those niptinis and meowgaritas
But, Timmy was the most sloshed that night. He danced with the lamp shade on his head and then promptly lost his tail.
Derby then made me take a pill with lots of water, which made me fall into a deep sleep. It was while I was sleeping off the high that Bella wrote her telephone number on my belly.
When I woke up, I was grateful that my throbbing headache and non-stop hiccupping had gone away.
Then a most exciting thing happened...

"Wha...? What did Beau say to Ghost?!"
Beau 'fessed up to Ghost about his love for her. And then he went on to... PROPOSE!
Unfortunately, Ghost did not give an answer to his furry important question. And Beau refused to talk about the incident anymore.
Of course, all this happened in private. But, I had overhead them. So did all the other kitties. And Beau was NOT happy about that.

Need... to... sleep...
Then I fell asleep again and Timmy furry nearly shaved off my eyebrows as a prank. Thank goodness Derby forced Timmy to behave and my handsome brows were spared.
I bolted awake when I felt suffocated suddenly. I couldn't breathe. I found out that I had fallen to the bottom of a massive nap pile and Petey's furry big butt was on my face!
Thank you, Finny & Buddy, for a furry wonderful party! I'll still be dreaming about it in the many many months to come.
So... when's the next party?!

Update on Bombay & Bangles

Melvin writes...
"Just a short update on Bombay and Bangles.

Bombay has managed to maintain his weight and sexy shape
"They are doing well and I have dubbed them the little monsters coz everyday when I come home, they are bound to terrorise something in my rooms!

Bangles has grown closer to Melvin and acts as his second alarm clock
"Hehe... but, the most funny habit is displayed by Bangles. Whenever his bro is asleep, he will come over and try to snuggle with me. And every morning, he will come and disturb me to wake me up when my alarm clock rings!

"Hehe... it's quite cute actually."

3 to go...

Unfortunately, these three cats have to be given up for adoption.
Their owner has just moved in with his mother-in-law, and she is allergic to their fur and saliva. So sadly, the three kitties have to go.
All of them are siblings and are only four years old.

Mommy cat and her kittens spotted

Melvin, Bombay and Bangles' owner, wrote to me...
"Last night, I was having coffee beside Aljunied MRT station. I spotted this mummy with her newly born kittens. They are very cute, but the white kitten looks rather frail. I hope nothing harms the kittens. The mum appears to be taking good care of them."

Bad manners, common discourtesy

Since I started this blog, a handful of people have approached me to ask for help in finding a home for this cat or that kitten, and I always agree to help. I ask friends, approach fellow-volunteers, even publicise these adoptions on my blog.

I don't ask for anything in return... none whatsoever... except carry the hope that these felines will go to loving families and good homes.

No... wait... I do ask for ONE thing and one thing ONLY -- for those people to have the common courtesy to tell me when the cat(s) have been adopted out so that I don't waste my time and effort still trying to get people interested in them.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest... here's another two darlings, a mother and her kitten, who need a loving home. I'll post more info on them tomorrow.

A very pretty mother and her cutie-pie kitten

How not to love that face?
** Update: Someone frightened both mother and kitten away. None of the feeders know where they have escaped to and are hoping they will return safe and sound. **

2 cuties up for adoption

This is Doby

And this is Ying Yang
These two cuties were found abandoned in a box when they were only two days old. Along with two other siblings, they survived under the watchful eye and loving care of their foster. They are now two months old.
Two of the kittens have found a place in a loving home. Doby and Ying Yang are left.
Their foster tells me that because they were bottle-fed at such a young age, they have become very comfortable and affectionate towards people.
Both have been vaccinated and dewormed. Doby is a boy and Ying Yang is a girl.
Is there anyone who would like to make them part of their family?

A cat with attitude

I met this strikingly handsome cat who had tucked himself away in a wet market in Dover Road.

The distinct and symmetrical pattern on his face reminds me of The Mask.

He didn't seem to mind me squatting on my toes and snapping shots of him. In fact, he patiently posed for me for a good ten minutes while I experimented with different camera angles, none of which I can show off here, by the way, since squatting on my toes resulted in too many shaky shots.

Suddenly, a voice boomed overhead, "Miss, ah... what you doing, huh?"
I looked up and there was a man peering over my head, staring intently at my camera's flip screen.
"Oh... cat, ah?" he sneered.
Three minutes later, the guy was still behind me and showing no signs of leaving. Just as I decided to get up and leave, it was the cat who decided first that he had had enough of the man. He got up, scowled at the dude (who by the way did not seem particularly fond of felines)...

... And marched right up the stairs.
