Bangles: Ow! I'm trying... but it keeps collapsing.

Bangles: Ok, ok... it's almost done...

Bangles: Ta-dah! Our new tent!!!

Bangles: Now... where to get our fire going?

Bombay in hot wax

Bombay's owner, Melvin, called me with a very unexpected question.

Melvin: How do you get wax out of fur?
Me: Oh my god... What happened?
Melvin: Er... nothing serious. Just that I was moving an aromatherapy candle. It still had hot wax on it and...
Me: And what?
Melvin: I tripped and spilt the wax on the floor. I didn't realise I had gotten some on Bombay. Later when I touched him, I was shocked to feel him so waxy on the bottom half.
Me: Is Bombay okay? Is he hurt?
Melvin: He really is alright. Not scalded at all.
Me: How much wax is on him?
Melvin: Erm... not that much...
Me: Hmmm...
Melvin: I read that you can use baby oil to try and work the wax out of the fur. If that doesn't work, I'll send Bombay to the groomer. And that poor guy will just have to have a bald patch.
Me: Oh dear... poor Bombay...
Melvin: It's all his own fault! He tripped me!
Me: You can try using ice, you know.
Melvin: What? Ice?! Er...
Me: Yeah, the cold from the ice will harden the wax further and it should be easier to get the wax out.
Melvin: I think I'll give the oil a go first.

Later in the night when I checked with Melvin on Bombay's waxy status, he said that by the time he had reached home from the grocery store with the baby oil, most of the wax from his fur was gone.

Melvin thinks Bombay must have licked them all off himself. I asked Melvin to monitor him closely for any signs of discomfort, and I am most pleased to say that Bombay is in excellent shape... both inside and out.

Bombay & Bangles light a candle for Tiffy

Bangles: Daddy, do we start now?
Bombay: Bruffer, you'll have to speak for me. I'm too sad.

Bangles: Let me think up a furry good purrayer for Tiffy.

Bangles: Let's start with... and continue like this... then end by saying...

Bangles: We're ready, Daddy. Do I speak into the candle?

Bangles: Oh, I just speak from here? Ok.

Bangles: Dear candle, we light you to honour the memory of our beloved Tiffy.

Bangles: We hope that she is furry happy at the Rainbow Bridge, where there are lots of furriends and free-flow of stinky goodness.

Bombay and Bangles: We will hold you close to our hearts furrever. Until we meet again at The Bridge, little sisfur.

A small step in the right direction finally

After a long stretch of silence, Melissa has finally answered my SMSes to her. Since Tiffy's death, Melissa did not want to communicate with me and a fellow volunteer. She kept up her silence all through the weekend and the whole of Monday.

But yesterday afternoon, Melissa finally replied. She has agreed to meet with me this Friday night. This is a good step forward. I want to use this meeting to make sure that both she and Gucci are doing alright.

Meanwhile, I want to say a big Thank You to all of you for your immense support and concern. I can see that Tiffy had touched all your hearts. The Flyer and I were very moved by your
tributes to this precious little kitten. Thank you.

I miss this precious baby terribly... she was such a bright spark

Here is a list of all the blogs linked to little Tiffy's story.

Please let me know if you have been left out of this list. I will be sure to add you to it.

The last photos taken of Tiffy

I had gotten them from Melissa a while back, but never got a chance to post them up.
Tiffy was such a bundle of joy, a ball of pure energy and delight. There's a part of me that still can't believe she really is gone.
