I regret that afternoon siestas are a luxury I no longer can afford. Lucky pups!

Dawn & Elle
This is my best friend, Dawn.
She is a fabulous Speech Pathologist in San Francisco, although you can't quite tell from this photo. Hahaha!
She works with autistic children to help improve the way they communicate with the people around them.
Only once was one of her clients not a young child, but a four-legged fur ball named Louie.
Louie was being treated for an abnormal bark -- a bark that was too high in pitch, forcing his vocal folds to bang together causing nodules to grow on them.
Some months ago, Dawn adopted an angel-faced dachshund named Elle.
Elle was originally bred to be a "puppy machine" for a breeder.
Having had produced four litters of about 12 to 15 puppies in total, Elle was about to be "retired".
It so happened that Dawn and her husband, Alex, were looking around for a dog to love and care for.
Although they had planned to bring home a puppy, Elle was unabashed in her show of affection for both Dawn and husband.
Dawn's heart melted and decided that Elle had to be theirs.
Today Elle is happy, healthy and leading a most comfortable life.
And her life is about to become even more fulfilling.
Because Dawn has plans to have Elle certified as a therapy dog.
With Elle's natural disposition for children, we are sure that she will make a most wonderful therapy dog.
Good luck, Elle!
Good luck, Dawn!
You are both angels!

I feel so lazy today...
My 3 hours of Chemistry in the laboratory got canceled. And I am so glad for that because I am feeling very very VERY sluggish.
These reptiles at Melbourne Zoo perfectly illustrate how I feel.
