Slash is 3 years old today!

Look at this cheeky little face.

I can't believe that it has been almost 3 years since he popped into my life

and slashed me on the chest.

Look at him now.

He has blossomed into fine young mancat with a huge personality to match.

And what a 3-year journey it has been!

In the first year and a half, for example,

touching was something Slash discouraged in a hissy-spitting-clawish sort of way.

Now, he allows me to cradle him for extended periods and

even lets me groom the top half of his body.

More amazingly,

Slash will now try to get my attention by resting one paw on my arm

or gently brushing the side of my face with his paw.

To rouse me from sleep in the morning,

he'll lick my nose, gnaw on my hair or prod me violently in the head

depending on how badly he wants his breakfast.

Without a doubt, Slash has brought me joy after joy with his antics

and I look forward to many more years of loving and caring for him.

Tomorrow night, some of his favourite human playmates will be throwing him a birthday party.

So, Slash, how will you greet your party guests tomorrow?

Oh, what a naughty boy.
